Dear friends, neighbors, and valued customers,

After pivoting to take-out service once again to comply with the state’s Regional Stay at Home order, I have reluctantly decided to close the restaurant and hotel until such time as we are able to provide the level and type of service that our customers have enjoyed and expected. I feel this is the responsible thing to do to protect the health and morale of our employees and the safety of our customers.

I am incredibly grateful to all of you who have supported us and cheered us on during the past difficult months, and I want you to know that we will be back as soon as possible. In the meantime, we’ll be using our down time to maintain and improve our facilities and to try out some new menu items to offer when we reopen (but, no fear, we’ll still offer the Chicken Marsala and the Stuffed Mushrooms).

I especially want to express my gratitude to the incredible staff who have stepped up and stuck with us as we pivoted, then pivoted again, and again, and again.… They have been flexible, cheerful and professional through it all — and we look forward to bringing them back.

I am confident that 2021 will be a good year, and I look forward to enjoying it with all of you. Let’s stay safe and healthy and keep moving toward that light at the end of the tunnel.

Step back in time to 1879 when the Gold Rush was in full swing, Amador City was a bustling mining town, and the Imperial Hotel opened its doors to prosperous Victorian hotel guests. Today the miners are gone, but Amador City retains its historic character, and the beautifully restored Imperial Hotel, Saloon & Restaurant still offers a warm and gracious welcome to visitors to the Gold Country.

SAVOR THE EXPERIENCE
Described as “both elegant and whimsical”, with a “rich, seductive opulence”, the Imperial Hotel & Restaurant in Amador City is a place where time does not stand still, but it does slow down. Local residents and visitors mingle over cocktails in the Oasis Bar. Hotel guests sip a glass of wine or cup of tea on the balcony overlooking the town or on one of two native stone patios. TIME WELL SPENT
Spend an afternoon visiting the many award-winning, family-owned small wineries in nearby Shenandoah Valley and Fair Play. Browse the antique and specialty shops in Amador City and Sutter Creek. Return to our regionally acclaimed restaurant for a relaxing meal featuring locally grown produce, fresh meats and sustainable harvested seafood. Then simply retire to one of our nine handsome air-conditioned rooms with private baths and look forward to a full gourmet breakfast in the morning.
